What IS the Learning & Writing Center?

The LWC offers an academic support service that provides learning strategies and writing assistance for students, faculty, and staff. We also offer drop-in tutoring for specific subjects and weekly meetings with course-specific tutors.
What the LWC tutors WILL DO:
  • Help to identify issues with the content of your assignment.
  • Help identify strategies to help you with reading and writing that you can do on your own.
  • Do our best to clarify information so that it is easy for you to understand and implement.

What the LWC tutors will NOT DO:
  • Proofread or edit your assignment or "just check grammar."
  • Interpret text or suggest connections for you.
  • Provide a thesis, rearrange paragraphs, or otherwise do the work of interpretation or revision.
